These meatballs are so sweet and aromatic. Cooked in a sticky soy sauce and served with sesame noodles and your favourite Asian greens. A really easy weeknight meal. 

PORK AND GINGER MEATBALLS WITH SESAME NOODLES

Serves 4

INGREDIENTS

PORK MEATBALLS
500 grams pork mince
4cm piece of fresh ginger, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander stalks
1/2 red chilli, diced (optional)
3 tablespoons of bread crumbs
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil

SAUCE
3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
1 teaspoon chilli flakes in oil (alternatively use sweet chilli)
3 tablespoons water

NOODLES
Egg noodles, fresh or dried
Sesame seeds, toasted
1 tablespoon sesame oil

Steamed asian greens, coriander leaves and fresh chilli to serve. 

METHOD

Preheat oven to 190°C.

In a bowl, combine all meatball ingredients apart from the sesame oil. Then roll into golf ball sized balls. Pour the sesame oil into a deep dish pan and heat in oven for 5 minutes. Add the meatballs and cook for 10 minutes. 

Combine the ingredients for the sauce and drizzle over meatballs, return to the oven for a further 10 minutes. 

Cook noodles as per packet instructions. Toss in a bowl with sesame seeds and sesame oil. Pour remaining meatball sauce over noodles. 

Serve with your favourite steamed asian greens.
